Visit the Destin Harbor Boardwalk!
The Destin boardwalk is a must-see if you are visiting the area. There are plenty of local vendors, restaurants, and activities. Save some vacation time to visit in October when the annual Destin Seafood Festival returns to the Boardwalk. The Boardwalk is a great family-friendly escape, especially at the start of your stay, because you can book other excursions like swimming with dolphins, parasailing, rent jet skis, or even charter a sea cruise. Your family will love taking a walk up and down the Boardwalk, and there will be something for each family member to enjoy!
Check out Gator Beach park!
If you have any animal lovers in your family, you’ve got to make a stop at Gator Beach. It’s the largest alligator exhibit in Florida, and admission is free. Meet lots of amazing animals, see some of the alligator shows, and you can even pay to feed the alligators (safely.) Plus, there is a delicious restaurant and plenty of snack options!
Race at The Track
If your family loves a thrill, head down to the Track Family Fun Park! This theme park has everything from rides to one of the largest arcade parks in the area. But what you really want to do here is race! Five go-kart tracks are available, including the three-story Wild Woody track!
Take in a magic show
The only thing you need to do to make your trip more magical is take in a magic show! So get your tickets to the Maximum Magic show featuring award-winning magicians Noah and Heather Wells. Your kids (and your inner child) will love this 90-minute show full of amazing illusions and tricks!
Get wet at the Big Kahuna Waterpark
If you still can’t avoid getting wet, you can at least do it in an enclosed sand-free place, like the Big Kahuna Waterpark! It’s the largest waterpark along the Emerald Coast! There are plenty of slides, attractions, and fun to thrill the kids, so they’ll sleep soundly when you get back to your vacation rental!
